The Dawn of a New Decade
The kids have just given me this blog as a 70th birthday gift, and though I don't totally understand it yet, I am nothing if not persistent and will figure out what all these buttons and icons mean in good time. I look forward to sharing humor, insights, Yankee bravado and the recapturing of our country with you all through this blog. Please be patient as I am a slow typist, but I am embracing this gratefully as a gift from my kids and as a gentle step into a new decade.

Well, happy birthday anyway.
I am uncertain that this is the best way to pass along my salutations on this occasion. I would rather see you at another Yankees game.
However, if Posada can hit a grand slam at his advanced age, there is no telling what you can do blogging.

Dear Ron,
Alison, Georgina and I all wish you a very very happy 70th birthday. I am sending this via Georgina's account as I am too nervous to set one up myself! You are seven years younger than me and so you can face up to this.
We dont know if we're coming to New York or not in December as we have not heard anything from Johnny Webb - but we will let you know as soon as we hear anything.
Have a great day and I hope your swing will not deteriorate now that you have reached the magic age of 70.
